ABOUT RABBI RBO
In addition to being a rabbi, RBO is a genderqueer (per/pers) therapist, educator, writer, community organizer, and passionate about making our world, small and large, more humane.
I am currently Director of JQ International’s Helpline and Inclusion Services, which offer support and resources for LGBTQ+ Jews and their allies. The JQ Helpline receives calls and emails from throughout the United States, as well as from Canada, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. I also present LGBTQ+ Inclusion Trainings to Jewish and secular organizations. In addition, I direct JQ’s Speakers Bureau, which trains LGBTQ+ and ally speakers to tell about the realities of being ostracized from or marginalized by both the Jewish and secular world.
Before joining JQ International in 2013, I served congregations in California and Georgia. While I worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I created and taught the Seven Steps to Healing® model for adults who had been abused as children.
